Contactless chip cards do not need to come into direct contact with the reader to be read: They work via inductive coupling or radio.
Contactless chip cards include the following components:
- A chip (with a radio transmitter)
- An antenna
- A carrier medium made of laminated paper or plastic (the card)
Depending on the intended area of application, relatively simple to highly sophisticated contactless chip cards are available on the market. The heart of the card is always the chip: it controls communication with the reader, the receipt of data, the storage of data on the card, its encryption and the protection of access to the data.
Your checkout will also be equipped with an n-tree coding station for contactless chip cards. This solution offers you a high degree of flexibility and allows you to create a completely personalized card including an encoded contactless chip in just a few minutes.
