Since 2018, BRB’s sales channels have been converted to the POS and access system with a webshop solution from n-tree solutions. Numerous innovations have been added to the system in stages.

How did you hear about n-tree and what made you decide to work with us?

We started working together with a replica of a historical ticket machine on Planalp. After deciding to put a new POS system into operation, it was clear to us that we should also ask n-tree. The online seat reservation was then a logical next step.

Looking back, how do you see the last few years, the whole set-up and further development in collaboration with n-tree?

Very innovative. Customer wishes are taken seriously and the company is always trying to program new products to meet customer requirements.

What has the optimization with the slot bookings achieved and how has it helped your company?

We launched online bookings directly before Corona. This service was a blessing during the coronavirus pandemic. Customers were able to make a contactless booking. We can also plan our resources (locomotives and personnel) even better because we can see days in advance how the day will most likely develop.

What has changed with the online webshop compared to the on-site checkout system?

Many guests no longer have to make a detour via the checkout. This gives the checkout staff additional time for consultations.

Digitalization and technological progress are advancing ever faster. How do you see the potential and use of innovative technologies in the mountain railroad industry?

It must be possible to have a cross-company solution for the entire rail industry. Today, for example, SBB online tickets do not work. Other railroads also have this problem. Further integration of the Swisspass is also desirable.
